Redmi K20 Pro Teased Online by Xiaomi Calling It ‘The World’s Fastest Phone’; Takes A Dig at OnePlus 7 Pro

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker is gearing up to launch a flagship smartphone under the 'Redmi' sub-brand.  Though the company hasn't revealed any launch date yet, but it has started teasing the upcoming smartphone. The Redmi K20 Pro alongside Redmi K20 were launched late last month in China. The new Redmi K20 Pro flagship phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 855 SoC which is clubbed with 8GB of RAM. When launched, the device will be pitted against the likes of OnePlus 7 Pro. Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Now Getting Android 9 Pie OS Update in India.

To recall, Xiaomi mocked OnePlus 7 Series by teasing Redmi K20 Pro soon after OnePlus launched its flagship phone. Yet again, the Chinese phone brand went ahead to take a dig at OnePlus through its new teaser via Twitter by saying - 'Some celebrations are short-lived. Stay Tuned'. In the teaser, Xiaomi also calls Redmi K20 Pro as 'The World's Fastest Phone'.

Notably, Xiaomi hasn't specified any launch date of Redmi K20 Pro in India. But, Xiaomi India's MD - Manu Kumar Jain revealed through Twitter that Redmi K20 & Redmi K20 Pro smartphones will debut in India in next 6 weeks. So, it is speculated that the devices will be launched in India by July.

Specification-wise, the Redmi K20 Pro will come with a 6.39-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with resolution of 1080x2340 pixels and in-display fingerprint sensor. Under the skin, there will be a Snapdragon 855 SoC that will be paired with up to 8GB of RAM. In the camera department, Redmi K20 Pro will get a triple rear camera comprising of 48MP primary lens along with a 13MP wide-angle lens and an 8MP tertiary sensor. At the front, there will be a 20MP pop-up camera for selfies and video calling. The phone will be backed by a 4,000mAh battery along with a 27W fast charging support.

To be offered in 3 variants, the India prices for the smartphone will be announced at the launch. However, the base variant with 6GB of RAM + 64GB ROM is priced at CNY (Rs 25,200) whereas the mid-variant with 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM retails at CNY 2,599 (around Rs 26,200). The top-of-the-line version with 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM is priced at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 30,200).
