As per the reports, the WhatsApp is working to bring new animated stickers to chats, which is currently being tested on Android and iOS. If the market reports are to be believed, the animated stickers on WhatsApp will be made available across all platforms as well as WhatsApp Web.

The new animated sticker feature was initially spotted by WABetaInfo, a popular WhatsApp beta tester. The source mentioned that this new feature is currently under development and not all beta users will be able to use it despite updating the application to the latest version. It is also reported that these animated stickers will be offered as a sticker packs when rolled out. Moreover, the users will also be able to use third-party sticker packs when made available. The users will also be able to preview an animated sticker on the chat before sending it to contacts. It is important to note that the animated stickers are not GIF, which play for a specific duration and needs to be tapped again for playing. On the other hand, these stickers continue to animate without the need to playing them. The reports claim that the feature will be coming soon for Android, iOS and WhatsApp Web.
