Officials also claimed that a Telegram chatbot known as Daivinchik/Leo played a role in those alleged recruitment efforts.

Separately, Australia's online safety regulator recently launched legal proceedings against Telegram, alleging it failed to remove violent extremist material from the platform. Telegram has rejected those allegations and says it has blocked more than 150,000 terrorism-related communities this year.
