Xiaomi, a leading Chinese smartphone making company will reportedly introduce the successor to Mi 5X which will be officially revealed at an event in China today. To be named as Xiaomi Mi 6X, the smartphone will be  introduced with an aim to strengthen its product offering in the mid-range smartphone space. The smartphone is also expected to launch in the domestic market as well and could be named as Mi A2, as the fact that Mi 5X was launched in India as Mi A1. Several leaks and render images emerged on the internet revealing the specifications and other details. Also, a hands-on images and video of the new Mi 6X smartphone surfaced earlier in the day which gives a clear picture of the device. As far as the specifications are concerned, the upcoming Mi 6X is likely to sport similar design as that of Redmi Note 5 Pro which will carry a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and aspect ratio of 18:9. To be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, the new Mi 6X is expected to be offered three storage options: 4GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB & 6GB+64GB.

For optics, the smartphone is expected to carry an improved dual camera featuring 20MP primary sensor and 8MP secondary sensor. The company will also offer 20MP snapper with LED light for selfies and video calling on the new Mi 6X. As per the new rumors from the market, it is believed that will skip the 3.5mm headphone jack and instead will be bundled with USB Type-C to 3.5mm dongle. The smartphone will be packed with 2910 mAh battery which is smaller than the one seen on the predecessor. The new Mi 6X is expected to run on MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Moreover, the handset will also be introduced with stock Android 8.1 Oreo which will be called as Mi A2, as per the market reports. As far as the pricing is concerned, the new Mi 6X is expected to be priced around RMB 1799 which is approximately Rs. 18,000 for the entry level variant. The top-end variant might see a price tag of RMB 1999 which will be around Rs. 20,000.
