One child appeared to jump out of the vehicle and run away. The mother quickly returned the child to the car as Tucker continued circling the vehicle. Moments later, the child jumped out again. At one point, the mother raised the gas pump in what appears to be an attempt to fend Tucker off.
Customers Step In
Several customers who had been inside the convenience store noticed the confrontation and walked outside to help. Tucker eventually left the scene in his vehicle before police later tracked him down and arrested him.
A gas station employee said he noticed the disturbance unfolding outside. “I saw a commotion outside like someone was running after a small kid. Then eventually I saw the police,” said Ali Joof. “Some of our customers they went outside and they were trying to calm the situation.” Joof said Tucker is a regular customer.
According to the arrest warrant, Tucker told people he had a gun during the incident. Investigators also allege that he grabbed a child who was sitting in the back seat of the vehicle.
Court records show Tucker was arrested on charges of attempted kidnapping, assault and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held without bond while the case proceeds. Authorities have not released additional information about the child's condition. The investigation remains ongoing.
