A mass shooting at Seattle Center during the popular Bite of Seattle food festival left two people dead and five others injured on Sunday, July 26. The shooting occurred at the Seattle Center, located at 305 Harrison Street in Seattle, Washington.
According to officials, the victims included multiple adults and a two-year-old child. Emergency crews rushed the injured to nearby hospitals as police secured the area.
Victims' Condition
According to KOMO News, two victims were pronounced dead at 7:47 pm. Four others were taken to Harborview Medical Center, while a 39-year-old woman was transported by AMR in stable condition.
The injured also included a two-year-old boy and a 23-year-old, both reported to be in stable condition. A 56-year-old woman was said to be in serious condition. Harborview Medical Center said all admitted patients had suffered gunshot wounds. One adult woman underwent surgery and was listed in critical condition, while the remaining patients were reported to be in satisfactory condition.

Witnesses Describe Terrifying Moments
Several witnesses recounted the chaos that unfolded as gunfire erupted during the festival.
"I heard bang, bang, bang, and I heard yelling, straight yelling," one witness told King 5.
Another witness, Isiah, told KOMO News, "I was working...when I heard four pops." He said he initially thought the sounds were routine until he saw "women, kids, and men" screaming and running.
"I hopped the fence," he said, adding that he later praised the quick response by the Seattle Police.
Another witness, Andrew, said he did not immediately realise what had happened.
"I saw families, kids, just running out of the fair," he said. "Someone said active shooter, and I jumped the fence and ran."

Investigation Underway
KOMO News reported that some witnesses claimed there may have been another shooter still at large. However, authorities have not confirmed those claims. Police are continuing to investigate the shooting and have not yet released further details about a possible motive.
