The US military has identified 1Lt Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii, and Pvt Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Texas, as two soldiers killed in Jordan while supporting a mission against the Islamic State group. US Central Command said they died while defending against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks, bringing the total US military deaths in the conflict to 17.
The US military on Monday identified two soldiers killed during the ongoing conflict with Iran as 1Lt Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas. The two service members were killed in Jordan, where they were supporting a US mission against the Islamic State group, the Department of Defense said.
The military has not disclosed how the two soldiers were killed. However, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Saturday that two American service members died in Jordan while defending against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks.

Soldiers Were Supporting US Mission in Jordan
According to the Defense Department, Feehan and Gonzales were deployed in Jordan as part of the US mission against the Islamic State group.
Officials have not released further operational details surrounding their deaths. The military said additional information would be withheld until at least 24 hours after the soldiers' families had been notified.
US Military Death Toll Rises to 17
The US military said the total number of American service members killed since the conflict with Iran began in late February has now reached 17.
The fatalities highlight the broader regional impact of the conflict, as US forces stationed across the Middle East continue to face threats despite not being deployed inside Iran.
Additional Fatality Reported in Iraq
Separately, US Central Command said an American service member was killed on Saturday in northern Iraq during a "controlled detonation" of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian drone.
A second service member was injured in the incident and received medical treatment for what officials described as a minor injury.
Conflict Extends Beyond Iran
The conflict has affected several countries across the Middle East as Iranian missile and drone attacks have targeted locations where US forces are stationed.
Iranian authorities said at least 50 people had been killed and more than 500 wounded in US strikes over the past three weeks, including eight people killed in an attack on a bridge on Friday.
The fighting has also affected civilians and foreign nationals, with people working on ships, as well as foreign workers in Gulf countries, Israel and Lebanon, among those reported killed during the conflict.
