New Delhi, February 20: A secretary for the Randolph Eastern School Corporation was arrested over the weekend following allegations of s*xual misconduct involving two high school students. Alicia Hughes, 31, faces multiple felony charges after an investigation that began with a domestic battery report led authorities to uncover a series of alleged inappropriate relationships. Hughes is currently being held at the Randolph County Jail on a USD 25,000 cash-only bond.

Initial Discovery and Investigation

The investigation began on the night of February 14, 2026, when the Union City Police Department responded to a report of domestic battery. According to investigators, the physical altercation occurred after Hughes’ husband reportedly discovered her with an 18-year-old student from the high school where she worked. California Shocker: School Teacher Offers Money in Exchange for S*x to 13-Year-Old Boy, Arrested.

While the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department is handling the investigation into the alleged battery separately, the initial police response prompted a deeper look into Hughes’ conduct with students.

Additional Allegations Uncovered

During the course of the probe, investigators say they uncovered evidence of a second s*xual relationship involving a 17-year-old student. Police allege that Hughes and the minor engaged in s*xual intercourse on at least five separate occasions. US Shocker: Married Teacher Sent Disturbing Messages to a 17-Year-Old Student Before Having S*x With Him in Washington, Sentenced.

Based on these findings, Hughes was charged with five counts of child seduction, a serious felony in Indiana. While the state's age of consent is 16, Indiana law strictly prohibits s*xual conduct between school employees and students under their authority, regardless of whether the student has reached the age of consent. Authorities have not yet announced whether additional charges will be filed regarding the encounter with the 18-year-old student.

School District and Legal Response

The Randolph Eastern School Corporation confirmed that Hughes has been removed from all duties. In a statement, Superintendent Neal Adams emphasized that the district is cooperating fully with law enforcement to ensure student safety.

"RESC takes all allegations involving students extremely seriously," Adams said. "Upon becoming aware of concerns, the corporation fully cooperated with law enforcement and will continue to do so as the investigation proceeds."

Hughes remains in custody as the legal process moves forward. The Union City Police Department stated that the investigation is active and ongoing, and they are encouraging anyone with further information to contact local authorities.
