On August 11, it was reported that the 50-year-old director was critical post relapse of liver ailment. On August 17, filmmaker Milap Zaveri tweeted about Nishikant’s death. Milap Zaveri expressed his condolences in a tweet. But it appears that he was misinformed. Milap quickly rectified his error and tweeted that while Nishikant was alive, he was still critical.
