Abbas Araghchi Accuses Benjamin Netanyahu Of Influencing Washington

Araghchi's comments focused on what he described as a contrast between Netanyahu's private or Hebrew-language remarks and his public statements in English. The Iranian foreign minister alleged that the Israeli prime minister used extensive appearances on US networks to influence American public opinion and policy towards Iran. His remarks come amid continuing tensions between Tehran, Washington and Jerusalem following months of military confrontation.

Araghchi's comments also come after Netanyahu last week dismissed the prospect of an agreement between Iran and the United States. The Israeli prime minister also called Iran's leaders "savages", underscoring the continuing hard-line positions on Tehran. The remarks from both sides reflect the wider diplomatic and military tensions that have persisted despite the April ceasefire.
