Chandigarh, November 27: Fire broke out in the front coach of Kalka Howrah Express in Haryana on Tuesday. According to a tweet by ANI, the incident took place between Dhirpur to Dhoda Khedi Railway Station near Kurukshetra during the early hours on Tuesday. Reports inform that no casualties have been reported so far. Two passengers were reported to have been facing breathing difficulties and were rushed to a nearby hospital. In the last week, a similar incident was reported from West Bengal when fire broke out in two compartments of a passenger train in Nadia district. The railway officials informed that no casualties were reported in the incident. According to a report by PTI, the blaze was noticed in ladies and the vendor compartments of down Lalgola passenger, when the Sealdah-bound train was approaching Dhubulia station. As soon as the incident took place, passengers immediately pulled the chain to stop the train.

Earlier this month, two wagons of a goods train caught fire near Dahanu in Palghar district of Maharashtra. Rail services on the route were affected in the wake of the fire incident. The Western Railway (WR) cancelled a couple of long-distance trains, a report by PTI informed. Besides, at least 10 long-distance trains were halted and suburban train services between Virar and Dahanu Road stations were stopped till Friday morning, they said.
