Kolkata, Dec 7 (PTI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said 27 helipads have been constructed and made operational in the state till May this year.
Banerjee, in a Twitter post on International Civil Aviation Day, also said the state government has introduced low-cost helicopter services from the metropolis.
"Today is International Civil Aviation Day. In #Bangla, as of May 2018, 27 helipads have been completed and put to use.
"Low cost-passengerfriendly helicopter connectivity between #Kolkata and other destinations like Malda, Balurghat, Digha and Gangasagar have been introduced," the CM tweeted.
The United Nations General Assembly had in 1996 proclaimed December 7 as International Civil Aviation Day.
