Jakarta [Indonesia], August 28 (ANI): Indian table tennis squad on Tuesday bagged their first ever medal in the Asian Games as they won a bronze in Men's Table Tennis Team event after conceding a 0-3 defeat against South Korea in the semi-final round.

India started with a defeat in the opening match as Sathiyan Gnanasekaran lost 11-9, 9-11, 3-11, 3-11 against South Korean opponent Sangsu Lee.

Achantha Sharath Kamal added to India's woes as he also lost 9-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-7, 8-11 in the succeeding match.

In the third match, which was a must-win for India, Anthony Arputhraj could not keep the hopes for the final alive as he lost the clash 5-11, 7-11, 11-4, 7-11 to Woojin Jang.

In squash, India defeated Thailand 3-0 in their women's team pool match. They will take on Indonesia, later in the day.
