"We are so happy to share Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank," she continued.
"Named after three people we love and admire past and present, including her Great-Grandmother who we hold close in our hearts."
"Her name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home," Eugenie added, nodding to the baby girl's birthplace in Lisbon.
"Augie and Ernie are already the best big brothers," Eugenie concluded.
Queen Elizabeth II, whose historic 70-year reign made her Britain's longest-reigning monarch before her death in 2022, has inspired the names of several of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her granddaughter Princess Beatrice, sister of Princess Eugenie, shares the middle name Elizabeth with their cousins Zara Tindall and Lady Louise Windsor.
Among Queen Elizabeth's great-grandchildren, Elizabeth is part of the names of Princess Charlotte, Lena Tindall, Sienna Mapelli Mozzi and Athena Mapelli Mozzi. In addition, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle named their 5-year-old daughter Lilibet, after Queen Elizabeth's childhood nickname, and call her by the nickname Lili. (ANI)
