New Delhi, Oct 16 (PTI) An exhibition of blown glasses would be organised here on Wednesday in a bid to upgrade glassmaking in India, an NGO said Tuesday.

The People for Animals group, which is involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of animals, will hold the exhibition of 6,000 glass pieces, the NGO said in a statement.

It has been endorsed by Union minister Maneka Gandhi, who has said the exhibition aims to upgrade glassmaking in India.

The exhibition-cum sale of blown glasses will be held from October 17-26 at the Chanakya mall and at the Park Hotel on October 29.

Blown glasses are made from glassblowing technique that involves inflating molten glass into a bubble with the aid of a blowpipe to make pieces used for decoration.
