New Delhi [India], July 18 (ANI): A 45-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified bike-borne assailants in North West Delhi's Bawana area on Friday morning, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Joginder alias Kala.

According to the Delhi Police, the incident took place around 8:15 a.m. in Village Pooth Khurd, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Bawana police station limits.

Following the attack, Joginder was immediately rushed to the MV Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

"A crime team has inspected the spot. An FIR is being registered in connection with the incident, and efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused persons," police said.

The police added that further investigation into the matter is ongoing to ascertain the motive behind the killing.

Earlier on July 17, A tragic incident unfolded in the Kamal Vihar area of Burari in the national capital, where a man allegedly shot his girlfriend dead before turning the weapon on himself. The victims were discovered with fatal injuries along with a weapon, following a report to the police control room, Delhi police said.

Preliminary investigations suggest the man ended both their lives after expressing deep distress over his family's opposition to their marriage.

Speaking to ANI, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for the North District Raja Banthiya provided the details on the discovery and informed that authorities recovered the bodies sustaining gunshot injuries at the Kamal Vihar location.

He said, "We received a PCR call around 3:30 pm(Thursday) reporting that a man and a woman had sustained gunshot wounds in the Kamal Vihar area of Burari. Upon arrival, we found two bodies, a male and a female, both with gunshot injuries; a pistol was lying at the scene." (ANI)
