Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], August 4 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to ensure that there should be no drinking water scarcity in any region of the state. He instructed officials to continuously monitor rainfall conditions and reservoir levels and take timely measures to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply.

Reviewing the performance of various departments during a meeting at Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) in the Secretariat on Monday, the Chief Minister directed the officials to focus on reservoir water availability and preparedness measures, a press release said.

The Officials informed the Chief Minister that rainfall in the upper catchment areas is expected to improve water availability in the Krishna and Godavari river basins. They also briefed him on the flood situation in the Godavari River, the release noted.

The Chief Minister directed officials to fully utilise inflows into the Krishna basin from upstream rainfall. He also instructed departments to ensure there is no shortage of fodder and to prepare sufficient reserves to meet livestock needs for the entire year.

Referring to transport department initiatives, the officials briefed the Chief Minister on measures being implemented in the department, including the extensive use of technology and the removal of unnecessary regulations. They explained that these reforms would help reduce corruption and enable the delivery of more efficient and citizen-friendly services. The Chief Minister directed the officials to simplify procedures by removing unnecessary conditions to transform the transport department into a people-friendly one, the release said.
