"DGP Shri @CVAnandIPS Garu, I have known you for decades and have always regarded you as a competent officer. The BJP MP from Nizamabad further questioned the accountability and chain of command of the Telangana Police, saying that the force should function in accordance with the Constitution and law.

"This raises a serious and fundamental question, does the Telangana Police function under the Constitution and the lawful chain of command, or on instructions from members of the Chief Minister's family? As far as I am aware, Telangana Police is accountable to the law and not to any political family," he added.

Responding to the allegation, Telangana DGP C V Anand said he had taken time to verify the matter with the officers concerned and clarified that no officer had been assigned duties to follow or monitor the BJP MP.

Replying to Dharmapuri's post on X, the DGP said, "After your post on X, I have taken time and all pains to verify from all concerned what you have alleged and let me clarify MP garu @Arvindharmapuri, that no officer (s) has been put on duties to tail you and watch you. We don't believe in such things and do not adopt such methods. But, if you have any more details, please feel free to give them to me personally and I'll get it verified fully, I assure you."

The DGP's response came after Dharmapuri publicly raised concerns over the alleged monitoring and questioned whether political influence was being exercised in the functioning of the state police.

The Telangana Police chief also invited the BJP MP to share any additional details he may have regarding the alleged surveillance, assuring him that the matter would be verified fully. (ANI)
