New Delhi [India], July 18 (ANI): Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar on Saturday delivered a strong message against corruption during his first high-level meeting with senior officers, asserting that the force must remain corruption-free and uphold its credibility among the public.
Addressing officers of the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and above, the Commissioner said maintaining a corruption-free Delhi Police is of paramount importance and made it clear that there would be zero tolerance towards corrupt practices within the force.

According to sources, the Commissioner warned that strict action would be taken against any police personnel found involved in corruption or facing credible complaints of graft.
He also stressed that the credibility, discipline and public confidence in Delhi Police must be preserved at all costs, and directed officers to ensure transparency, accountability and professional conduct while discharging their duties.
The remarks came during the Commissioner's first major review meeting with senior officers after assuming charge.
Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) appointed senior IPS officer Anurag Kumar as the new Delhi Police Commissioner, replacing Satish Golcha on Friday.
As per an order issued by the MHA on Friday, Kumar is appointed as Delhi Police Commissioner "with effect from the date of assumption of charge and until further orders."
"With the approval of the competent authority, Anurag Kumar, IPS-AGMUT cadre of 1994 batch, is hereby appointed as Commissioner of Police, Delhi, with effect from the date of assumption of charge and until further orders," reads the MHA order.
However, the same order also mentions that the incumbent Delhi Police chief, Satish Golcha, a 1992-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, is directed to "report to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi for further posting, upon assumption of charge by the new incumbent."
The replacement came a day before the activist Sonam Wangchuk, who had been sitting on an indefinite hunger strike for 20 consecutive days, demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as the Union Education Minister over alleged nationwide examination irregularities, including the NEET paper leak controversy, was taken to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday morning.
According to the sources, the doctors at the Safdarjung Hospital have found that Wangchuk is facing dehydration, low potassium and rising ketone levels, which can increase during fasting but, when significantly elevated along with dehydration, may pose a risk to kidney function and other metabolic complications.
He is under close medical observation at the hospital after 20 days of prolonged fasting. The hospital authorities are continuously counselling the family to allow treatment to begin without further delay. (ANI)
