India News | Delhi Wakes Up to Light Rain, Gets Relief from Heat and Humidity

New Delhi [India], August 23 (ANI): Delhi witnessed light rain in several parts of the city on Saturday morning, bringing a pleasant turn to the weather.

People at Kartavya Path enjoyed the early morning walks amid light showers. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain was recorded in isolated areas across the national capital, while the Safdarjung area reported mist along with a temperature of 27°C as of 8 am.

Meanwhile, the Ridge area experienced a light thunderstorm accompanied by rain and mist, with temperatures standing at 26°C as of 7 am, as per IMD.

Earlier, over the past 24 hours, Delhi recorded very light to light rain at many places, with moderate rainfall at isolated places accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Minimum temperatures across the capital remained in the range of 23-26°C, while maximum temperatures settled between 34-35°C.

According to IMD data recorded till 0830 hours, Pusa recorded a maximum cumulative rainfall of 016.5 mm, while the Ridge and Faridabad recorded minimum cumulative rainfall of 000.2 mm and 001.0 mm, respectively.

Across the country, very heavy rainfall was recorded over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, East Uttar Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, and East Madhya Pradesh yesterday.

Additionally, heavy rainfall was also reported over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam and Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha.

Additionally, the weather agency predicted isolated heavy rainfall for Uttarakhand from August 22 to 28.

Additionally, fairly widespread rainfall is expected in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim between August 22-28, over Jharkhand from August 23-28, and over Bihar between August 24-26. (ANI)
