Two people, including a 10-year-old child, have lost their lives in an incident of slab collapse at Kailas Business Park, near TATA Power House, Vikhroli West, said Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation authorities.
Mumbai, June 10: A man and a 10-year-old boy were killed after a portion of the slab and parapet of an under-construction building collapsed in Mumbai, civic officials said on Monday. The incident took place at Kailas Business Park in Vikhroli West on Sunday, a civic official said.
On arrival at the scene, officials found that some portion of the parapet (iron beam) and slab had fallen while some parts of the under-construction building were hanging precariously, according to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials. "Fireman removed the structures hanging precariously," they added. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) declared the onset of the southwest monsoon over Mumbai on Sunday.
