India News | 'Speaker Urged Everyone to Work Together, Yet Oppn Maintained Its Negative Attitude': Manoj Tiwari

New Delhi [India], July 20 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manoj Tiwari on Monday launched a sharp critique of the Opposition, accusing them of maintaining a "negative attitude" and habitually disrupting the House proceedings.

Speaking to ANI, Tiwari emphasised the achievements made between the last session of Parliament and the first day of the Monsoon Session.

"The Prime Minister himself addressed the entire nation today. As this session begins, consider how far we have come. We have even introduced hydrogen trains and note the significant achievements the country has secured between the last session and this one. Today, the Lok Sabha Speaker made a crucial point: why has a precedent been set where Parliament is disrupted and fails to function on the very first day of the session? He urged everyone to work together to ensure the House runs smoothly. Yet, the Opposition maintained its negative attitude," he said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed reporters ahead of the commencement of the Monsoon Session of Parliament and highlighted India's recent achievements in the space sector and praised the country's young innovators.

"Just before last year's Monsoon Session, an Indian citizen reached the International Space Station, and the day before yesterday, India's young startup achieved a very big milestone. There are very few countries in the world where such private ventures have taken place, and India's youth have taken a new flight into space. It is a very big success," Modi said.

Referring to the team behind Skyroot Aerospace, he added, "The young people working in this 'Skyroot' startup--I have been told the average age of their entire team is only 28 years. Such youngsters have accomplished this work; I am not talking about any 56-year-old 'youngster,' I am talking about these startups in the country with an average age of 28 that have planted India's flag in space."

The Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced on Monday and is scheduled to stretch till August 13, and will also mark the parliamentary debut of the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), formed by 20 rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs who merged their faction and aligned with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
