Goa [India], Mar 22 (ANI): The Indian Coast Guard successfully evacuated a critically ill British national off the coast of Goa.The 67-year-old had suffered a cardiac arrest on his voyage to Abu Dhabi onboard RMS MV Queen Mary 2, a transatlantic ocean liner which departed from Kochi. At around 5:00 PM on Thursday, the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Mumbai was alerted by M/s Carnival Maritime Hamburg about the medical emergency onboard the Bermuda-flagged passenger ship. The passenger was critically ill and was in need of immediate medical attention.Indian Coast Guard C-158, an interceptor boat, was launched and Indian Coast Guard ship ICGS Amal on surveillance mission was also immediately diverted to attend to the matter.In a speedy mission, Indian Coast Guard Boat reached the ocean liner and the passenger was evacuated off Goa. He was then admitted to Manipal Hospital. (ANI)
