Internet Archive Team Begins Saving Google+ Content Before Doom

Google+ is shutting down in April and with it, the company will start deleting data from the social network too.

California [USA], Mar 18 (ANI): Google+ is shutting down in April and with it, the company will start deleting data from the social network too.Before the data is deleted forever, the Internet Archive and the ArchiveTeam are working on preserving the public posts.As The Verge reports, the sites announced that they are in the process of archiving the posts using scripts to capture and back up the data in an effort to preserve it.The efforts will only be to safeguard posts that are currently available to the public. Threads beyond 500 comments will not be preserved. Images and videos will not be preserved at full resolution.If you posted content which you do not want to be preserved, then it is recommended you delete your account.Google announced the shutdown of its social network service earlier this year after a security breach was discovered. In February, Google disabled the ability to add new profile pages and communities. Consumer data will be deleted on April 2, 2019. (ANI)
