Bhubaneswar, May 18 (PTI) The Odisha Congress today observed 'Save Democracy Day' in protest against the Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala's decision to invite the BJP to form government in the southern state.

Senior leaders of the Odisha Congress submitted a memorandum to President Ram Nath Kovind through acting Governor Satya Pal Malik urging him to safeguard democratic principles and the sanctity of the Constitution.

The Congress's protest was a part of a nation-wide dharna in front of Raj Bhawans at state capitals and all district headquarters.
