Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 19: The Elphinstone Road station in Mumbai has been renamed as Prabhadevi station.

The new name came into effect from the midnight of July 18.

"Necessary changes are being made on station boards, indicators, PA system, etc for the benefit of passengers," read a statement.

Not to forget, around 23 people were killed and over 39 injured in a rush-hour stampede at the same railway station in September last year.

The station code for newly renamed Prabhadevi station will be PBHD. (ANI)
