New Delhi, Apr 23 (PTI) Leading multiplex operator PVR has introduced 'Audit-Air-Ium' movie theatres, which will provide pollution-free cinema viewing experience by retrofitting customised air cleaners.

PVR has introduced this concept at its Directors' Cut here in association with Nirvana by retrofitting its central air purification systems, which would maintain Indoor Air Quality as per National Air Quality Index (AQI) standard.

The company is investing around Rs 30 lakh per property and aims to introduce this feature in other theatres of Delhi, Mumbai and some other metros.

"We would roll it out at least in two more properties in Delhi and Mumbai," said PVR Joint Managing Director Sanjeev Kumar Bijli.

He also said that the company is also mulling to have this "clean air theatre" concept in some of the coming projects, which are in pipeline. The company is also exploring to have this feature in the some metros such as Kolkata, which have pollution-related problems.

PVR currently operates 625 screens at 134 properties in 51 cities.
