Hyderabad, Apr 17 (PTI) Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today said the first phase of distribution of cheques under the 'Rythu Bandhu' investment support scheme for farmers would be launched from May 10.
An amount of Rs 8,000 per acre would be provided under the scheme, a release from the chief minister's office said.
The chief minister said along with cheques, the week-long 'Pattaadar' passbooks distribution to farmers would also commence from the same day.
"As part of this, the passbooks and cheques will be provided to all the farmers in all the villages," the release said.
Rao held a meeting with ministers, MLAs and officials on the distribution of cheques and pattaadar passbooks here, it said.
The release also said the state government would take up organising state-wide eye camps immediately after the completion of distribution of cheques and passbooks.
The government had earlier announced that eye camps would be organised across the state.
The health department is working out the necessary action plan for the exercise, the release quoted Rao as saying.
