New Delhi, Jun 9 (PTI) Hundred parks would be developed on gram sabha lands in south Delhi, a senior civic official said, as two such parks made on wastelands were inaugurated by Lt Governor Anil Baijal at Jaunapur area today.
Baijal said children residing in the area will be benefited from these parks as they will enjoy swings and open gym facilities installed by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).
He also asked SDMC Commissioner P K Goel to develop more such parks and plant saplings in this monsoon season, the SDMC said in a statement today.
At a function held for the inauguration of the 3.33 acre park near MCD school, Jaunapur village, Goel said, the SDMC will develop "100 such parks on gram sabha lands".
"SDMC will also revive at least 15 water bodies in coming days and Jaunapur Talab near the inaugurated parks will be the first one," he said.
