Thakur Seeks NCC Help in Tackling Drug Menace in HP
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today asked the National Cadet Corps (NCC) to help the government in checking drug menace in the state.
Shimla, Jul 30 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today asked the National Cadet Corps (NCC) to help the government in checking drug menace in the state.
He said this after Additional Director General, NCC Directorate, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, Major General RS Maan called on him here today
Thakur said the NCC can also help in afforestation and making the state polythene free.
He said efforts would be made to ensure NCC teachers in all schools and colleges, having NCC wings, in the state.
Thakur said presently over 23,000 NCC cadets render their services in the state. He hailed the NCC for playing a major role in developing character, discipline, leadership, spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service among the youth.
