Bhubaneswar, Aug 25 (PTI) At least three farmers were killed and three others injured when they were struck by lightning in separate incidents in Odisha's Cuttack and Kendrapara districts on Sunday, police said.
While two persons were killed and three injured in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Cuttack's Mahanga, another person was fatally struck by lightning in Kendrapara's Mahakalapada area, a police officer said.
All the deceased and injured were working in agriculture fields during the strikes, he said.
Two people were killed by lightning in Mahanga's Lalitgiri and Bheda, Cuttack-Rural SP R B Panigrahi said.
Police said another farmer was killed at Barakanda village under Mahakalapada police station limits.
Five farmers were killed and two others injured when they were struck by lightning in Kendrapara district on Wednesday, another police officer said.
