Purulia (West Bengal) [India], Nov 8 (ANI): Alokesh Prasad Roy, District Magistrate of Purulia district in West Bengal has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukul Roy for allegedly making derogatory remarks against him during a speech at Sarai Maidan here on November 2.

According to reports, Roy had allegedly accused the District Magistrate of functioning not like civil servants but like functionaries of the ruling party Trinamool.

The DM, who has lodged an FIR in Balrampur Police Station, stated in his written complaint, "I, undersigned lodged complaint against Mukul Roy of Kanchrapara, district 24 Parganas (West Bengal) state leader of the BJP that on 02.11.2018 at afternoon he attended an open meeting at Sarai Maidan under PS Balrampur and he delivered derogatory speech and levelled personal attack against the undersigned as well as threatened the undersigned with an intent to hurt the reputation by delivering such speech in an open meeting at public place."

The DM has demanded stern action against the BJP leader. (ANI)
