Hyundai, a South Korean auto manufaturer has officially revealed the new 2018 Hyundai Santro in India today. The company will be launching the all-new Santro small car in the domestic market on October 23 in Delhi. Developed to meet the needs of Indian Families, the new Hyundai Santro is based on six key pillars - Modern Stylish Tallboy design, Comfortable and Premium Cabin, New Age technology, Customer Centric Safety, All Round Performance and Complete Peace of Mind. The company will be initiating the pre-bookings for the new Santro from October 10 onwards. The interested customers can book the small car with upfront payment of just Rs 11,000 across all Hyundai dealerships. This special offer is limited to first 50,000 customers only. To be built on all-new platform, the new 2018 Santro will carry 63% Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and High Strength Steel (HSS) for enhancing the stiffness and rigidity of the car.
On the exterior front, the all-new Hyundai Santro gets modern styling that is highlighted by Hyundai's signature-style cascading grille upfront that is underlined by sweptback headlamps. On the dimension front, the hatchback will measure 3610mm in length, which will be 45mm longer than the old Santro. The hatchback will also have longer wheelbase. Under the hood, the Santro will be powered by a 1.1-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine. Developed for low vibrations, superior performance and high fuel efficiency, the petrol mill will be tuned to make 68bhp of maximum power with peak torque of 99Nm. Moreover, the small car will be the first model to get Smart Auto AMT technology as well as CNG option. The CNG unit will make 59 bhp of max power. On the mileage front, the petrol version and the CNG option are claimed to return mileage of 20.3 kmpl and 30.5 km/kg.

Once launched in the country, the new Santro hatchback will compete against Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid and others in the segment. The company will be looking to price the new Santro pretty competitively, which is expected to start from Rs 3.75 lakh and will go up to Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
