Hyundai India has finally launched the highly-awaited Hyundai Aura sub-compact sedan in India with an introductory price of Rs 5.8 lakh (ex-showroom India). Introduced as a replacement to Hyundai Xcent, the South Korean auto maker is looking to redefine its hold in the competitive sub-compact sedan space that is dominated by Maruti's Dzire. The sedan is offered in 12 variants across four trim levels - E, S, SX & SX(O). The newest offering from Hyundai India comes with three BS6 compliant engines (two petol & one diesel option). Additionally, the sedan also gets six exciting shades - Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Alpha Blue and Vintage Brown. Hyundai Aura Compact Sedan India Launch - Highlights.

Talking about the design, the new Hyundai Aura flaunts Satin Silver front grille design complemented by sweptback projector headlamps, twin boomerang DRLs, sporty diamond cut alloy wheels, Z-shaped LED taillamps, shark fin antenna and more. As far as the dimension is concerned, the new Hyundai Aura gets length of 3,995mm, width of 1,680mm and height of 1,520mm along with wheelbase of 2450mm.

On the inside, the overall cabin appeal is enhanced by premium and elegant design featuring premium satin, honeycomb mesh dashboard design, bronze inserts and more. The sedan comes equipped with class-leading features like 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto & Apple Car Play compatibility, Arkamys Premium Sound, 5.3-inch digital speedometer & multi-information display, wireless charging and more.

Mechanically, the newly launched Hyundai Aura sedan is offered in three BS6 engine options that includes 1.2-litre MPI petrol, 1.2-litre Ecotorq diesel and 1.0-litre turbo GDi petrol. The 1.2-litre petrol mill is capable of making 83PS and 114Nm of power figures whereas the 1.2-litre Ecotorq oil burner makes 75PS of power with 190Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1.0-litre Turbo GDi unit make 100PS of power against peak torque of 172Nm. Transmission functionality is taken care by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard on all three engines. However, the 1.2-litre petrol and diesel units also get an optinal AMT options.

Launched in India with an introductory price of Rs 5.8 lakh (ex-showroom Pan India), the sedan will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo, Tata Tigor and others in the compact sedan segment.
