KTM India is all set to launch its flagship motorcycle - 790 Duke in the Indian market today. The Austrian two-wheeler manufacturer will be revealing the prices for its highly anticipated motorcycle at an event in Mumbai. The bike manufacturer has already started taking pre-bookings for the motorcycle with upfront payment of Rs 30,000. The launch event is scheduled to commence at 11:30AM IST onwards. Interestingly, the company will be live streaming the launch event of 790 Duke and the fans can watch the live telecast straight from the venue here. KTM 790 Duke Motorcycle To Be Launched in India on September 23.

The launch of 790 Duke will mark brand's entry into the high performance motorcycle space. The motorcycle derives its name as Scalpel because of the razor sharp design language and aggressive performance prowess. We already know the specifications and features of the motorcycle with prices left under wraps. The prices of the motorcycle will be revealed today at the launch event.

As far as the prices are concerned, KTM is well known for competitive pricing for its products. And, we expect similar strategy for the new KTM 790 Duke. The motorcycle is expected to arrive in the country via Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route. The company is expected to launch the motorcycle around 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the new KTM 790 Duke will compete against Triumph Street Triple, Yamaha MT-09, Kawasaki Z900, Ducati Monster 821 and others.

On the specification-front, the motorcycle will be powered by a 799cc, parallel-twin motorcycle fitted in a Trellis Frame. The engine will be tuned to make 105bhp of power and 86Nm of torque while mated with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike will come loaded with features like slipper clutch, two-way quick shifter, lean sensitive cornering ABS, three mode traction control, four riding modes - Street, Track, Rain, and Supermoto, wheelie control, launch control, LED headlamp and a TFT instrument console.

The suspension duties on the motorcycle will be carried out by a WP-sourced upside down forks at the front along with monoshock at the rear. For deceleration, the bike will be fitted with 300 mm dual front discs upfront and a 240 mm single disc at the rear with J.Juan calipers. It is believed that KTM India will introduce the 790 Duke in limited numbers which will be BS4 version. And, the company is also working on the KTM 890 Duke, which might replace 790 Duke when launched. However, the 890 Duke is expected to make its global debut later this year.
