Mahindra Expands Charge_iN Ultra-Fast EV Charging Network to 50 Locations in India
Mahindra has scaled its Charge_iN public EV charging network to 50 operational stations across India, marking its first HPCL partnership deployment on the busy Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
Mahindra has expanded its ultrafast public electric vehicle (EV) charging network, Charge_iN, reaching 50 operational stations across India. The latest milestone follows the commissioning of a new facility at the HP Auto Care Centre in Sajgaon, Pune, located along the high-traffic Mumbai–Pune Expressway. The network now encompasses 200 live charging points nationwide, aimed at facilitating smoother inter-city travel for electric vehicle drivers.
Strategic Deployment on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway
The newly opened station at Sajgaon represents the first operational site under Mahindra's joint initiative with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). The installation addresses a vital transit link on one of western India's most heavily traveled expressway corridors.
Mahindra and HPCL formalised their partnership in March 2026 to roll out EV charging facilities across HPCL retail fuel outlets. According to the company, multiple additional sites under this agreement are currently in various phases of planning and construction to further bolster highway coverage.

Fast-Charging Infrastructure and Vehicle Accessibility
The Charge_iN network utilizes 180 kW dual-gun direct-current fast chargers. For compatible vehicles—such as Mahindra’s Electric Origin SUV range, including the XEV 9e, BE 6 SPORTEQ, and XEV 9S—the stations can replenish battery levels from 20 percent to 80 percent in approximately 20 minutes.
The charging stations are open to electric four-wheelers from all manufacturers, rather than being restricted to Mahindra vehicles. Drivers can locate chargers, initiate sessions, and process payments through the Charge_iN by Mahindra app, the Me4U platform, and integrated third-party aggregators, with compatibility for HPCL's HP eCharge platform planned for roll-out soon.
