Mahindra & Mahindra, a leading home-grown auto manufacturer is gearing up to launch the AMT version of Mahindra XUV300 in India. According to the report from Autocar India, the car maker will be launching the AMT derivative of XUV300 in July. The report also highlighted that Mahindra dealerships have started taking bookings for the diesel automatic version of the compact SUV. When launched, the AMT version of the SUV will be more expensive than the regular manual version by around Rs 50,000. 2019 Mahindra XUV300 Clocks Over 13000 Bookings in Just One Month of Launch.
It is expected that the company might offer diesel AMT on the mid & top-end variants of the compact SUV. However, the base W4 version will continue to sport a 6-speed manual. Apart from this addition, the XUV300 AMT will remain identical to the manual model. On the dimension front, the SUV will remain the same with 3995mm of length, 1821mm of width and 1627mm of height. Moreover, the wheelbase of the SUV will stand at 2600mm.
Mechanically, the AMT version of Mahindra XUV300 will get Marazzo MPV sourced 1.5-litre unit. The engine will be make similar power figures similar to the manual version - 115 bhp & 300Nm. When launched, the SUV will be pitted against the likes of Tata Nexon AMT, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza AMT and Ford EcoSport AT and Hyundai Venue DCT. With the inclusion of new transmission, the new Mahindra XUV300 AMT is expected to be more powerful and fuel-efficient than the regular counterpart.
