Royal Enfield, a legendary motorcycle manufacturing company has finally launched the limited edition Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus in India today. Priced at Rs. 2.40 lakh (on-road Delhi), the company will be manufacturing only 1000 units of the newly launched RE Classic 500 Pegasus motorcycle of which India will get only 250 units from serial number 0001 to 0250. Along with the motorcycle, the company will also be offering special Pegasus merchandise including helmet, T-shirt, helmet, boots, special canvas panniers, sling bag and much more. The bookings for the new Pegasus motorcycle will commence from June 10 onwards across all Royal Enfield authorized dealerships across the country. Talking about the new RE Classic 500 Pegasus, the motorcycle is available in 2 color options - Service Brown and Olive Drab Green. However, the Service Brown colored variant will be able for sale. The limited edition motorcycle takes inspiration from RE/WD 125 motorcycle which was popularly known as Flying Flea that was manufactured by company's underground facility in Westwood, UK.

The motorcycle comes powered by a same unit as seen on the regular Royal Enfield Classic 500. The 499 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor is tuned to make maximum power of 27.2 bhp @ 5,250 rpm with peak torque of 41.3 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. Moreover, other equipment offered on the special edition Pegasus including chassis, brakes and tires also remains the same as that of Classic 500. Talking about the design, every unit of the special edition motorcycle features a unique serial number on the fuel tank similar to the ones seen on the motorcycles used in World War II that carried the numbers of the regiment they represented. Another highlight is the Pegasus emblem - the official Parachute Regiment insignia on the fuel tank. Additional styling elements of the new Pegasus special edition motorcycle includes canvas panniers, a leather strap, brown handlebar grips, blacked out parts such as silencers, rims, kick start lever, pedals, headlight bezel and more.
