According to reports, the family suspected foul play and demanded an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. Their complaint prompted authorities to exhume the body for a post-mortem examination. Police registered a murder case against six named individuals and others. Two people were detained for questioning as investigators began examining the allegations and the events leading to Bannanath’s death.
