After rolling out Tata Nexon AMT on XZA+ variant in India earlier this year, Tata Motors has officially announced the launch of new AMT variant on the Nexon SUV. The newly launched XMA variant is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options, which gets a starting price of Rs. 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The sub-compact SUV comes with three driving modes - Eco, City and Sport. Moreover, the AMT derivative of the popular of the sub-compact SUV is called as Nexon Hyprdrive S-SG. Hold on Guys! The XMA variant of Tata Nexon also gets all-new Ivory White roof-colour option that enhances the coupe-like design of the SUV. The XMA variant of the Maruti Vitara Brezza Challenger also sports projector headlamps, LED DRLs, fog lamps upfront, Harman sound system, a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and more.
Mechanically, the sub-compact SUV continues to sport same set of powertrain options. The petrol mill is a 1.2-litre Revotorq turbocharged motor capable of developing max power of 110 PS @ 5,000 against 170 Nm of peak torque @ 1,750-4,000 rpm. On the other hand, the oil burner is a 1.5-litre Revotorq turbocharged unit churning out 110 PS of max power @ 3,750 rpm with 260Nm of peak torque @ 1,500-2,750 rpm. On the safety front, the newly launched XMA variant also comes with standard safety features such as dual airbags and ABS with EBD. The 5-seater SUV gets a spacious cabin with 60:40 seat split rear seats and a boot space of 350L for storing extra luggage.
As far as the prices are concerned, the petrol variant of the XMA variant is priced at Rs. 7.90 lakh, whereas the diesel iteration of XMA variant gets a price tag of Rs. 8.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The SUV competes against the likes of Ford EcoSport AT & Mahindra TUV300 AT.
