According to a separate report by The Economic Times, the chief executive pointed out that local labor expenses are more than double those found in comparable European manufacturing locations, necessitating urgent savings pushes.

Several domestic facilities, including the Emden plant in Lower Saxony, currently lack confirmed business plans beyond 2030. While management has characterized plant closures as a costly last resort, the ongoing strategic review has created intense friction with labor unions and works councils ahead of crucial supervisory board discussions
