The bank's 24x7 customer support helpline will stay operational as well, with SBI directing customers to reach out on 1800 1234 or 1800 2100 for any banking assistance during this time.
Sunday Working Day To Help Customers Prepare
In addition to the ATM fee waiver, SBI said all public sector banks and regional rural banks will operate as usual on Sunday, September 27, which is typically a non working day. This extra working day is intended to give customers a window to finish urgent banking tasks before the proposed strike begins.
SBI framed the entire set of measures, including the fee waiver, extended digital access and the additional working Sunday, as an effort to make sure basic banking functions such as cash withdrawals, digital payments and customer support are not affected by the strike. The bank reinforced this message in a post on social media on September 24, stating that banking services would not come to a halt and that customer needs did not have to wait, while listing out the channels that would remain accessible.
Since the proposed strike is likely to disrupt in-branch banking operations, the availability of ATMs, digital platforms and helpline support is expected to matter more for customers looking to manage their banking needs over the affected days.
