It is late Bollywood actor Amrish Puri's 87th birth anniversary. The actor, born on 22 June 1932, has been a prominent part of the industry for decades together. His presence is still felt through the stellar roles that he took up and the films that he chose. On this occasion, the Google Doodle has been dedicated to the late veteran actor. In the google doodle we can see the character from one of his known films Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). The text reads as 'text read as, "If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again—and you might end up like Indian film actor Amrish Puri, who overcame an early setback on the way to fulfilling his big screen dreams.'

Amrish Puri has worked in several films not just in Bollywood but also the regional ones. In fact, he also worked in a Hollywood flicks like Gandhi and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. As much as he was loved for his voice in India, the international fans were a fan of it too.

His roles in the films like Nayak, Pardes, Mr India, Virasat, Karan Arjun, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Damini, Badshah, Koyla, Hulchul to name a few were a rage. The actor died on 27 December 2004 after suffering from myelodysplastic syndrome.
