Long before he was officially brought on board as the screenwriter for Awarapan 2, Bilal Siddiqi was an ardent admirer of the 2007 original film. Back in June 2017, Siddiqi took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his appreciation for the action-drama, declaring Awarapan as his favourite Emraan Hashmi film.
Nearly nine years later, Siddiqi reshared that exact post after being signed as the writer for the sequel. Highlighting the unexpected full-circle moment, he wrote, “Had posted this back in 2017. And now I'm part of the sequel. Manifestation, I guess.”
