Ajay Devgn-Rakul Preet-Tabu starrer De De Pyaar De trailer is here. The rom-com based on the lovers who have an age-gap seems interesting, funny and light-hearted. However, there is one more factor in the film’s trailer and that is, Bollywood actor Alok Nath. He was recently engulfed in a serious controversy as he was accused of rape allegations by a TV actress, under #MeToo movement. He allegedly sexually harassed her 19 years ago and the fans were shocked to find the name of this actor, who is labelled as sanskaari, get into this row. Not just the actress, but there were a few of his co-stars who narrated their opinion on him which were not much flattering.  De De Pyaar De First Look: Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Are All Set to take You on a Ride on May 17!

Now, after the issue has relatively subsided on the social media, B-town too is getting back to ‘normal’ it seems. Despite, so many voices raised against Nath, he continues to get work and be seen in major multi-starrers like the one we saw today.

In one of the scenes, he is seen going sanksari all over again by telling Ajay to ‘touch his feet’! All in all, it is indeed surprising to watch the makers be all cool about his inclusion in the movement, kind of dismissing the seriousness of the allegations on him. Considering De De Pyar De is a big movie and has popular stars like Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet, it feels like mainstream Bollywood is ignorant to the cause of #MeToo.

Meanwhile, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a six-month non-cooperation directive to the actor in February 2019. This was after Nath “refused to participate” in the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) inquiry, as told by Ashoke Pandit, President of The Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA).

Also, there were reports that he will be seen in the role of a judge in a film called #MainBhi that reportedly and ironically revolves around #MeToo! Now, as the matter has been subsided, is it that the Bollywood has completely forgotten about the grave issue?
