When Aashiq Banaya Aapne actress Tanushree Dutta levelled allegations of sexual misconduct against veteran actor Nana Patekar, some slammed her allegations while many celebrities came out in support of the actress; They also admired Tanushree for her courage. Talking about the same, Farhan, in a statement to Hindustan Times, said, "If the woman has decided to speak up, least we can do is listen to what she has to say. My biggest annoyance was even before we listened [to her story], people were insinuating that ‘because her career was over, she still wants attention’. I found that in really bad taste, further adding, "They have already been through enough and had to find this courage to be able to speak. Please listen to them patiently, don’t doubt their intention." The actor also stated that if a woman levels a false accusation against someone then it a sin.
