Gully Boy in Oscars 2020: Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt-Siddhant Chaturvedi's Film Becomes India’s Official Entry for the 92nd Academy Awards

The hype around Oscars 2020 is going to be even more real with this selection of the film. Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt-Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer Gully Boy won critics and masses simultaneously. The rap drama based on Mumbai rappers Divine and Naezy's story, showed the nation a new side of the rap world. Now, this Zoya Akhtar directorial which also stars Kalki Koechlin, Amruta Subhash and Vijay Raaz in key roles is selected as India’s official entry for the 92nd Academy Awards. The film is selected for the Best International Feature Film category. Excel Films co-head, Farhan Akhtar tweeted about the same. Gully Boy beat twenty eight other films that were sent for the selection process. Films like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Badhaai Ho, Andhadhun, Article 15, Badla, Kesari, The Tashkent Files, Dear Comrade, Vada Chennai, Super Deluxe, Parvathy's Uyare were some of them. The meeting and the screening took place in Kolkata where finally, this musical-inspirational film got the green signal. Ranveer wasn't lying when he said, "Apna Time Aayega!"
