Sanjay Leela Bhansali is going all out with his next big project starring Alia Bhatt. The Padmaavat director wanted to tell Gangubai's tale for the longest of time but the unavailability of his desired actresses compelled him to put it on a backburner. The project was earlier offered to Priyanka Chopra but she either rejected it or Bhansali was too tired of awaiting her reply. Things finally started falling in place when Alia was offered the role and she was eager to bag it at any cost. Next, we know the director being in talks with Hrithik Roshan for a role in the same project.

As per a report in Filmfare, SLB has approached Roshan Jr to be a part of Gangubai Kathiawadi. He wants him to play the role of yesteryear don, Haji Mastan. Has HR agreed to come on board for the same or his team is still busy sorting out various issues, we don't know but Hrithik and Alia coming together sounds like a really promising deal. The actor previously worked with Bhansali in Guzaarish and though the movie tanked at the box office, we know they won't say no to collaborating once again. Baiju Bawra: Ranbir Kapoor Should Collaborate with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his Most Ambitious Project, think Fans.

Gangubai Kathiawadi revolves around a brothel owner of Kamathipura. The film will be an adaptation of a chapter from S Husain Zaidi's Mafia Queens Of Mumbai. Meanwhile, Bhansali is planning to start the shooting of this in December and later start prepping for the remake of Baiju Bawra.
