Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial venture Kabir Singh has completed three weeks in theatres but its still making records at the Indian box office. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead, the romantic drama hit the screens on June 21 and took massive opening despite receiving mixed reviews from the critics. Sasha's performance was , however, lauded by one and all on the social networking sites. After entering the Rs 200 crore club in just 14 days, Kabir Singh went on to become the highest grossing film of the year by surpassing the lifetime collection of Uri - The Surgical Strike in merely 20 days. And today, Shahid-Kiara starrer will surpass the Rs 250 crore mark at the domestic box office. Yes, you heard that right. Though the remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy got affected by the world cup matches this week, it still managed to perform well at the ticket windows and got cash registers ringing.
Just a while back, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter and revealed the film's updated figures. He wrote, "#KabirSingh is excellent in Week 3... Was affected [slightly] by the cricket matches [#CWC19]... Will cruise past ₹ 250 cr today [fourth Fri]... [Week 3] Fri 5.40 cr, Sat 7.51 cr, Sun 9.61 cr, Mon 4.25 cr, Tue 3.20 cr, Wed 3.11 cr, Thu 3.32 cr. Total: ₹ 249.60 cr. India biz." Since Shahid's latest offering has been pulling the crowd to the cinema halls from day 1, its given that Kabir Singh still has a lot of steam left in it. The movie should comfortably reach the Rs 275 crore mark before ending its theatrical run in India.
