The movie is slated for a release on November 23, 2018. So who really is Anand Kumar? These facts will help you to know the famous IIT coach and mentor from Bihar better.

1) Anand Kumar's father was a post office clerk in Bihar and Kumar was educated in a Hindi medium government school.

2) During Graduation, Anand Kumar submitted papers on numbers theory, which were published in some of UK's leading Mathematical journals.

3) Anand Kumar wanted to study Maths and do research in the field. He even got an opportunity to study at Cambridge but he had to let go of that dream because of the untimely death of his father.

4) After the death of his father, the family income became inadequate and Anand Kumar had to resort to selling papad made by his mother. He used to study in the day and sell papads in the evening from door to door.

5) One day, in the year 1995, seeing his passion and expertise in Maths, a well-wisher advised him to start teaching maths. He saw reason in the suggestion and rented a room to start teaching the subject to kids. After the first year, the number of students rose from two to 36. Today, the very same school that had such a humble beginning, is renowned worldwide as the Ramanujan School of Mathematics.

6) In the past interviews, the 45-year-old celebrated teacher has often explained how his simple approach of teaching maths through a slide and incorporating the concepts in a story helps him connect better with the students. According to Anand, this takes away the fear students have developed for Mathematics in school. Anand Kumar believes that the low pay of teachers is the major reason why people passionate about teaching do not become teachers. According to him, this should be changed.

7) He also says that initially, when Super 30 was gaining recognition, there were murder attempts on him by the rival coaching classes owners and that he had to move around with armed bodyguards those days.
